"This book was refreshingly authentic. Sol and Celeste love story was extremely unique. Two unlikely pair marry for all the wrong reasons.Sol wanted to escape his pass. He thought marrying an ugly wife would free him of his demons. I' m not going to give away surprise of this book but let's just say it's a dusy. With that said this book in steeped in secrets, sibling rivalry and sex. There are no sex scenes but you can feel the heat and read about the characters pass.Now Celeste is one complicated character. At first she comes off cold and distant. She dresses in period pieces and talks almost in an old English style. She marries Sol to escape her love of her sister's fiance.Each have a self-loathing of themselves. Sol see as him self a sexual creature to be used; while Celeste see herself as this deformed, unlovable person.This book was funny but it also made you cry. I loved the author's use of words and analysis of the characters. Even when the characters were at their worst you could relate to them and feel their pain. This book was a pleasant surprise"
