Write Stuff -- The Secret Everyone Knows -- April 1st

The secret everyone knows about is child sexual abuse. It is rampant in our society. Children are destroyed by the day because of one person's perverted sexual desire. Statistics show that crimes against children are on the rise. Is it any wonder the words of Jesus are said with such finality? In Matthew 18:5-7 "And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!"

Write Stuff -- Predatory Lies -- April 8th

Lies do more than just hide the truth. They do more than just hurt other people. They eat away at you, consume you until there is nothing of the real person left. With an utterance, they dig their way into our bodies, festering and growing like a sore that won’t heal. Lies are predators. They come in many forms. We tend to associate lies with a person. Yet, these insidious parasites attach themselves to us any way that can. They can attack our sense of beauty. Both men and women are the intended victims. What are some of the things we are willing to do to be the handsomest, the strongest, the prettiest? This desire to be perfect in an imperfect world leads to a host of problems that plague us.

Write Stuff -- Man's Best Friends -- April 15th

This show's going to the dogs...and the cats, the lizards, the hamsters, the birds, the horses, the lions, the tigers, and the bears. Animals have long been part of God's creation since the beginning. They have a special place in our hearts as we study, learn, breed, provide, protect, and love them. In return, for the most anyway, the animals we care for do the same thing. Also, animals have been known to be therapeutic, companions, guardians, protects, warriors, and fighters. Is it any wonder we have such a connection with our many legged friends?

Write Stuff -- Back in the Day -- April 22nd

People, in general, like to remember the way things used to be. Sometimes we may focus on how an injustice was perpetrated at one point in history. It wasn’t too long ago that women did not have the right to vote. And we all know how African Americans were considered three fifths a person. World War 2 allowed for Japanese internment camps and the near genocide of the Jewish people. History records great battles such as the mighty three hundred Spartans who fought against the Persian army. Christians around the world listen avidly to the narrative of David and Goliath. The annuals of time are great fodder for stories. They take us back to either simpler or more violent time in human history. Wars, famine, oppression, social justice, equality, and many other events in history are woven into the fabric of our lives and we’re all affected by it.
